On November 29, the public consultations for the project “Safe Vistula” will begin.

The public consultations for the “Safe Vistula” project will begin on November 29. Over the course of three weeks, four in-person meetings will be held in the following locations: Szczurowa, Padew Narodowa, Koszyce, and Sandomierz, with the consultations ending on December 19, 2024.

Currently, work is underway to organize the consultation process. Details regarding the specific locations and the start times of the meetings will be provided soon on the website of the PGW WP Regional Water Management Authority in Kraków at https://www.gov.pl/web/wody-polskie-krakow and on our website www.bezpiecznawisla.pl.

All interested parties will be able to participate in the consultation meetings, familiarize themselves with the documentation, and also have the opportunity to submit comments and suggestions electronically, by mail, or in person at the location where the Program project is available, i.e., at the offices of RZGW in Kraków and RZGW in Rzeszów.

The “Safe Vistula” project is referred to in official documents by its full name: “Program of retention measures as part of flood risk management in the Upper Western Vistula and Upper Eastern Vistula river basin between Kraków and Zawichost.

The consultations will be conducted in accordance with the Act on the Access to Environmental Information and Its Protection, Public Participation in Environmental Protection, and Environmental Impact Assessments. According to this Act, the documents require a strategic environmental impact assessment, which includes a mandatory 21-day public participation period in the form of public consultations.

During the consultations, both the Program and the Environmental Impact Forecast developed for it, along with the feedback submission form, will be made available on the website www.bezpiecznawisla.pl, as well as at the offices of RZGW in Kraków and RZGW in Rzeszów.
